ALFA II – pellet boiler with central pellet burner, first-class equipment for maximum heat and operating comfort
Features of the Alfa II
The Defro Alfa II has a compact boiler design with optional expansion of the pellet container volume (PLUS version).
With automatic heat exchanger cleaning and ash removal as standard.
Central pellet burner for efficient fuel combustion. Automatic burner cleaning ensures reliable boiler operation.
TSS Twin Spark System – two alternatingly activated ignition elements.
Ceramic baffles above the combustion chamber. Standing tubular heat exchangers with turbulators for maximum energy yield.
Vacuum sensor for ensuring the necessary vacuum in the combustion chamber.
Strong induced draft fan for the necessary negative pressure in the boiler and stabilization of combustion.
Intuitive and very simple operation of the boiler thanks to the modern APC Center control with touchscreen, which operates 6 pumps and two heating circuit mixers and is equipped with a factory-installed Internet module.
A professional boiler connection package including return flow increase, boiler circuit pump included in delivery.
Fill level sensor in the pellet container to display the fuel reserve and to interrupt operation so that the screw conveyor does not run empty.
A lambda sensor can optionally be retrofitted, making combustion even more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Pellet heating is a better alternative in many existing houses
Heating with pellets or a heat pump?
The choice between a pellet boiler and a heat pump depends on various factors, including individual needs, local conditions and economic considerations. The budget for a new heating system in an old building is often not enough for a heat pump, as the investment is associated with several follow-up investments. If radiators have to be replaced, or the house has to be insulated, or perhaps a PV system has to be installed so that the heat pump can work efficiently, the costs increase significantly and may no longer be profitable in the long term in many existing houses. Pellet boilers can be integrated into an existing heating system more easily and economically, which makes the purchase costs moderate. Our modern boilers are very efficient and provide even heat output regardless of the outside temperature. It is advisable to speak to one of our sales consultants to determine the best option for your home.
A pellet boiler works similarly to a gas or oil boiler, but uses wood pellets as fuel.
The pellets are conveyed into the burner using a screw conveyor, where they are burned to generate heat. This heat is then passed through a heat exchanger that heats the water in the heating system. The heated water is then piped to the radiators or underfloor heating systems in the house to heat the rooms. An electronic control ensures that sufficient fuel is transported to the burner and the combustion air supply is automatically regulated to maximize efficiency.
Environmentally friendly: Wood pellets are a renewable fuel and have a low carbon footprint compared to fossil fuels such as oil or gas.
Efficiency: a pellet boiler is very efficient and can convert up to 95% of the fuel into heat.
Cost savings: Wood pellets are generally cheaper than oil or gas, you can save money in the long term with our pellet boilers.
Convenience: Pellet boilers work automatically and some models are fully automatic and require little intervention.
Pellet boiler and environmentally friendly heating!
From an “environmentally friendly heating” perspective, pellet heaters and wood heaters are still an excellent choice. When wood is burned, it releases as much carbon dioxide as it absorbs when it grows. It is therefore considered a climate-neutral fuel. Wood is a constantly renewable and sustainable raw material. Our wood and pellet boilers were therefore designed based on the applicable emissions guidelines and meet the strict provisions of the applicable BImSchV.
